We Need A Leader, Not Another Puppet

No offense meant, but what is it with Americans and this crazy notion of 'leaders of the free world'? Your President is leader of your country and no one else's. He or she has no legal, military or moral right-of-rule outside of your own borders, and perhaps there'd be a lot less accusation of hegemony and imperialism if Americans understood that. We, the majority of the world who are not Americans, do not report to or take orders from any American. Insulting the intelligence, integrity, leadership and people of other countries doesn't endear America to anyone, even allies.
There are many of us who still believe in the ideals of our founding Fathers who created a government for the people and by the people. It just isn't so any more as the big companies run our country and tell our President what they want him to do in other countries (for their interests). I would be great to once again have a President who served the people (the whole of the country and not these rich few). And too, perhaps to set an example for other world leaders. But at this time we have no such thing.
These few impose through the Presidential office, imperialism around the world to serve their own purposes which are not in the interests of the people of the United States. For that they lie and serve up propaganda where majority approval is required of the House/Senate representatives.
We have in my opinion no business being in other countries doing these things and creating more negative views of the United States and her people. At the same time, there are countries who seem to expect help from the U.S. even at a political or economic cost. So they do us no favor of involving the U.S. in their affairs which then our political powerful want to exploit for their own interests.
[this is good]
The president is only a figurehead. The true power is behind the scenes.
